Not one of them was capable of lying,
\nThere was not one which knew that it was dying
\nOr could have with a rhythm or a rhyme
\nAssumed responsibility for time.<\/p>\n
Let them leave language to their lonely betters
\nWho count some days and long for certain letters;
\nWe, too, make noises when we laugh or weep:

Mentre escoltava des d’una gandula, a l’ombra,
\nels sorolls que al jard\u00ed se senten en gran nombre,
\nem sembl\u00e0 b\u00e9 que d’aquells mots amb sons tan bells
\nn’haguessin estat privats vegetals i ocells.<\/p>\n
Un pit-roig sense nom va cantar aquell dia
\nl’Himne del Pit-roig, que era tot el que ell sabia.
\nles flors feien xiu-xiu i paraven l’orella
\nper tal de dir qui amb qui trobaria parella.<\/p>\n
Cap ocell no era capa\u00e7 de piular cap mentida,
