Les seves nombroses partitures cinematogr\u00e0fiques, una extensa m\u00fasica teatral incidental i tres ballets s\u00f3n de qualitat m\u00e9s variable. Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;un per\u00edode avantguardista inicial, Xostak\u00f3vitx es va adherir al romanticisme musical, en la l\u00ednia de Mahler. No obstant aix\u00f2, va fer algunes incursions en el terreny de l&#8217;atonalitat. La seva m\u00fasica sol incloure contrastos aguts i elements grotescs. Autor prol\u00edfic, en tots els g\u00e8neres musicals va aportar un llenguatge no solament personal i distintiu, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 renovador i brillant com pocs, la qual cosa li ha fet entrar directament en la hist\u00f2ria de la m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Inicis fins 1926<\/p>\n<p>En aquests immediats anys prerevolucionaris, Dmitri va cr\u00e9ixer en un entorn privilegiat en comparaci\u00f3 amb la gran majoria de ciutadans. La fam\u00edlia tenia dos cotxes, una datxa, un piano de la marca Diederichs i comptaven amb un tutor alemany, servents i una mainadera. Era un noi tranquil amb afici\u00f3 a la natura i a caminar, va assistir a l&#8217;escola comercial privada Maria Xidlovskaia del 1915 al 1919, juntament amb nens de la intel\u00b7lectualitat, com els Trotski, Kust\u00f3diev, K\u00e0menev i K\u00e9renski. La mare, Sofia Vassilievna, va descobrir molt aviat les qualitats privilegiades del seu fill per als assumptes musicals, i es convert\u00ed ella mateixa en la seva primera professora de piano. Tan aviat com va comen\u00e7ar, els seus dots musicals van florir. En un sol mes ja podia tocar peces simples de Mozart i de Haydn. A mitjan agost de 1915, un mes despr\u00e9s d&#8217;haver comen\u00e7at les lli\u00e7ons, la mare de Xostak\u00f3vitx el va portar a classes de piano amb el professor m\u00e9s important de Petrograd, Ignatiy Glyasser.\u00a0 Segons sembla, podria tocar tot El clavec\u00ed ben temperat.<\/p>\n<p>El 1919 entra al Conservatori dirigit per Alexander Glazunov, que aviat va recon\u00e8ixer el talent de DX, com a pianista i compositor. Xostak\u00f3vitx va ser membre actiu del Cercle de Joves Compositors (1921-1924) i tamb\u00e9 del Cercle Anna Fogt (1921-1925), dues associacions seguidores de les tend\u00e8ncies musicals contempor\u00e0nies de l&#8217;Oest.<\/p>\n<p>Durant els anys posteriors a la Revoluci\u00f3 Russa de 1917 fins al final de la Guerra Civil i a la introducci\u00f3 de la Nova Pol\u00edtica Econ\u00f2mica de Lenin el 1921, moltes institucions van quedar sense fons econ\u00f2mics: el Conservatori no en va ser una excepci\u00f3 i les classes sovint tenien lloc a temperatures gelades. La fam\u00edlia de Xostak\u00f3vitx, que abans havia estat benestant, tamb\u00e9 en va patir les conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies. El pare de Xostak\u00f3vitx va morir de pneum\u00f2nia el febrer de 1922 i la fam\u00edlia va haver de mantenir-se amb la mare mecanografiant i la germana gran donant classes particulars de piano. Sempre va ser un noi malalt\u00eds i la primavera de 1923 va desenvolupar tuberculosi i va haver de ser operat dels ganglis limf\u00e0tics. Despr\u00e9s de completar l&#8217;examen final de piano del Conservatori el juny, encara amb el coll embenat, va anar a fer-se cures en un sanatori de Gaspra, a Crimea. Aquest viatge va estimular l&#8217;amor pels viatges que va durar la major part de la seva vida (generalment preferia viatjar al sud a la primavera, per\u00f2 passar els mesos d&#8217;estiu al nord de R\u00fassia). All\u00e0 va con\u00e8ixer Tatiana Glivenko, filla d&#8217;un fil\u00f2leg de Moscou de qui es va enamorar i amb qui es va escriure gaireb\u00e9 tota la vida.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>(1)\u00a0 1926-1936<\/p>\n<p>La primera simfonia \u00e9s el treball de graduaci\u00f3 i va tenir un gran \u00e8xit. La d\u00e8cada seg\u00fcent a la seva graduaci\u00f3 va ser triomfant. El jove Xostak\u00f3vitx es va convertir r\u00e0pidament en un dels compositors mascota del r\u00e8gim comunista, rebent enc\u00e0rrecs per a partitures de cinema, m\u00fasica incidental i ballets.<\/p>\n<p>El 1927 va ser un any ple d&#8217;esdeveniments per al compositor. Xostak\u00f3vitx va tenir una trobada amb <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Prok\u00f3fiev\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prok%C3%B3fiev\">Prok\u00f3fiev<\/a>, que realitzava la primera de moltes visites a R\u00fassia abans del seu retorn definitiu nou anys despr\u00e9s. Xostak\u00f3vitx va tocar la seva <a title=\"Sonata per a piano n\u00fam. 1 (Xostak\u00f3vitx)\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sonata_per_a_piano_n%C3%BAm._1_(Xostak%C3%B3vitx)\"><i>Primera Sonata per a piano<\/i><\/a> recentment acabada, que va ser una de les poques obres de la generaci\u00f3 m\u00e9s jove de compositors sovi\u00e8tics que va impressionar Prok\u00f3fiev. Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;aquesta visita, i amb l&#8217;encoratjament de <a class=\"new\" title=\"Boleslav Iavorski (encara no existeix)\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Boleslav_Iavorski&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Iavorski<\/a>, Xostak\u00f3vitx va produir el seu encara m\u00e9s extrem <i><a class=\"new\" title=\"Aforismes (Xostak\u00f3vitx) (encara no existeix)\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Aforismes_(Xostak%C3%B3vitx)&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Aforismes<\/a><\/i> op.13, una s\u00e8rie de peces de g\u00e8nere perversament maltractades que semblen intents d&#8217;escandalitzar els sarcasmes de Prokofiev.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Grove_2-21\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dmitri_Xostak%C3%B3vitx#cite_note-Grove-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>A la primavera va comen\u00e7ar una llarga amistat amb el music\u00f2leg <a title=\"Ivan Sol\u00b7lertinski\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ivan_Sol%C2%B7lertinski\">Ivan Sol\u00b7lertinski<\/a>, que seria el seu millor amic fins a la seva mort el 1944.<sup id=\"cite_ref-FOOTNOTEFay200042_16-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dmitri_Xostak%C3%B3vitx#cite_note-FOOTNOTEFay200042-16\">[16]<\/a><\/sup> Les visions contundents de Sol\u00b7lertinski sobre la tradici\u00f3 simf\u00f2nica van ser factors vitals en el desenvolupament de Xostak\u00f3vitx amb el neoclassicisme germ\u00e0nic postmahleri\u00e0 de <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Hindemith\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hindemith\">Hindemith<\/a> i <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Krenek\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Krenek\">Krenek<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Grove_2-22\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dmitri_Xostak%C3%B3vitx#cite_note-Grove-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup> Amb l&#8217;\u00e0nim de Sol\u00b7lertinski, va fer un estudi profund de la m\u00fasica de <a title=\"Gustav Mahler\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gustav_Mahler\">Mahler<\/a> i, en fer-ho, va descobrir l&#8217;afinitat del compositor m\u00e9s important de la seva carrera, que tindria una gran influ\u00e8ncia en la seva m\u00fasica a partir de la <a title=\"Simfonia n\u00fam. 4 (Xostak\u00f3vitx)\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Simfonia_n%C3%BAm._4_(Xostak%C3%B3vitx)\"><i>Quarta Simfonia<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;estiu del 1927, Xostak\u00f3vitx s&#8217;allotjava a <a class=\"new\" title=\"Dietsko\u00efe Selo (encara no existeix)\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Dietsko%C3%AFe_Selo&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Dietsko\u00efe Selo<\/a> quan va con\u00e8ixer a Nina Varzar, una pianista amb talent, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 estudiant de matem\u00e0tiques i f\u00edsica a qui, de forma similar a Xostak\u00f3vitx, li agradava l&#8217;esport, en particular el patinatge sobre gel i l&#8217;escalada alpina. Es van casar el 1932, \u00absense dir ni una paraula a ning\u00fa\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00f4pera &#8220;El nas&#8221; sobre l&#8217;obra de G\u00f3gol \u00e9s qualificada de formalista, que tant podia significar que era un conservador acad\u00e8mic rutinari de la m\u00fasica burgesa, com un radical que utilitzava recursos formals i avantguardistes. En qualsevol cas, el terme equivalia a una acusaci\u00f3 d&#8217;incomprensible pel &#8220;poble&#8221; per estar ideol\u00f2gicament mal pensada, segons el criteri del Partit Comunista liderat per Stalin. Despr\u00e9s de superar l&#8217;examen obligatori d&#8217;ideologia marxista, Xostak\u00f3vitx va continuar el postgrau al Conservatori fins a l&#8217;1 de gener de 1930, i complint els requisits dels estudiants va presentar com a treball final la <a title=\"Simfonia n\u00fam. 3 (Xostak\u00f3vitx)\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Simfonia_n%C3%BAm._3_(Xostak%C3%B3vitx)\"><i>Tercera Simfonia<\/i><\/a>, subtitulada <i>El primer de maig<\/i>, composta a mitjans de 1929.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00fablicament va criticar la m\u00fasica occidental i el jazz. Per\u00f2 quna va semblar que afluixava el control va escriure la primera jazz Suite.<\/p>\n<p>Durant aquest temps es va dedicar intensament a compondre l&#8217;\u00f2pera <i><a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Lady Macbeth de Mtsensk\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lady_Macbeth_de_Mtsensk\">Lady Macbeth de Mtsensk<\/a><\/i>, que es va estrenar el 1934 i va tenir un \u00e8xit immediat, encara que despr\u00e9s va ser prohibida en el seu pa\u00eds durant vint-i-sis anys, uns personatges mesquins i sense escr\u00fapols en un fosc lloc de la R\u00fassia m\u00e9s profunda, on tot \u00e9s f\u00e0stic i sexualitat reprimida. El resultat \u00e9s una obra que reivindica la llibertat sexual mentre les inst\u00e0ncies oficials tractaven el sexe com una cosa exclusivament orientada a la fecunditat.<\/p>\n<p>El 1936 va acabar-se-li la tranquil\u00b7litat. El 26 de gener, Stalin i un grup d&#8217;oficials del Partit van assistir a la representaci\u00f3 de la nova producci\u00f3 del teatre Bolxoi de <i>Lady Macbeth<\/i>, i el resultat va ser un article condemnatori que va apar\u00e8ixer a la revista comunista <i><a title=\"Pravda\" href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pravda\">Pravda<\/a><\/i> el 28 de gener, amb un fam\u00f3s article titulat <i>Caos en comptes de m\u00fasica<\/i>. En aparen\u00e7a semblava que a Xostak\u00f3vitx li comen\u00e7aven a anar b\u00e9 les coses. El Quintet per a piano i corda, per la seva bellesa, impecable factura i for\u00e7a expositiva, va obtenir un gran \u00e8xit des del dia de la seva estrena, rebent el 1941 ni m\u00e9s ni menys que el Premi Stalin, a m\u00e9s d&#8217;haver estat guardonat amb l&#8217;Ordre de la Bandera Roja.<br \/>\nEsclata la guerra i pateix el setge de Leningrad que inspirar\u00e0 la setena simfonia.
