Música: love songs : A curious factor is that listening to sad love songs can be far from demoralising. A study by the University Of Montreal in 2016, published in Frontiers In Psychology, offered a scientific basis for “the paradoxical enjoyment of music-induced sadness.” Researchers found that sad songs induced a biochemical response in empathetic listeners, triggering beneficial hormones. George Harrison’s “Something,” from The Beatles’ Abbey Road album, is considered by some to be the perfect love song. The idea for it was sparked when Harrison listened to a reel-to-reel demo tape of James Taylor’s debut album, which featured a song called “Something in The Way She Moves.”
